A liquid facelift can last anywhere from six months to a year and a half. It is performed by injecting filler in the cheeks and along the jawline to volumize these areas. By doing so, we lift the skin, not vertically like a surgical facelift, but horizontally, projecting outward. For this procedure, I don’t use permanent fillers, so the result is never permanent.

The term liquid facelift is a bit of an oxymoron and more of a marketing term because we’re not actually lifting the deep structures and supportive tissues of the face and neck. Therefore we are not physically lifting the face as we do in a surgical facelift.

Is a liquid facelift worth it?

Whether a liquid facelift is worth it or not is up to you and your personal satisfaction. It’s best to set your expectations, knowing that it’s a temporary fix because when we put filler in the face it eventually gets resorbed by the body.

What’s included in a liquid facelift?

The elements included in a liquid facelift depend on your practitioner but typically include filler in the cheeks and along the jawline to give the illusion of lifting the mid-face. However, we can’t do a whole lot to lift the neck with filler.

Do you have questions about this? I love using filler to rejuvenate the face and I also love performing surgery to give a more permanent change that’s natural-looking. I’d love to see you in my office or virtually for consultation.
