Yes, you can get rhinoplasty for a bulbous nose tip. Rhinoplasty for a wider bulbous nose is done just like any other rhinoplasty. There’s an emphasis here on the nasal tip. The bulbous nose can be narrowed, and what has to happen first is we’ve got to diagnose each patient properly. We’ve got to know what the cause is of the bulbous nose to what causes a bulbous nasal tip.
What causes a bulbous nose tip?
The bulbous nose tip can come from thick skin. It can come from large cartilage. It can come from moderate cartilages that are in a particular position. So that diagnosis has to be made. But it’s easy to get rhinoplasty for a bulbous nose tip, if you go to a surgeon that understands how to make a proper diagnosis, and then can achieve the result they want, and the patient desires. Basically, after they’ve made the diagnosis, can put the solution to the diagnosis?
How can I make my bulbous tip smaller?
Often we don’t just work on the tip. We’ll work on the tip AND other parts of the nose to achieve the desired result. Rhinoplasty is an art, and you need a facial plastic surgeon with the experience to understand how to achieve an artistic result. If we’re working on a bulbous nose tip, we might change the position of the tip either in or out, often in, to be a little bit less projected. We might also be lifting the tip a little bit. Additionally, we might working on the nasal dorsum, and the width of the dorsum. So, we don’t just work on the bulbous tip itself, although it can be done.
Bottomline, bulbous tips are very straightforward in my mind. I just have to make the diagnosis and after I make the diagnosis, I’ve got to create a solution for that. It’s pretty straightforward. The most challenging aspect is thick skin, and those patients who have bulbous nose tips from very thick skin. Then we’ve got to make a solution that involves changing the skin in some way.
How much does bulbous nose rhinoplasty cost?
It depends what we’re going to do, but for me, a bulbous nose rhinoplasty is the general cost of other rhinoplasties, except if I’ve got to use cartilage as a projector, like using rib cartilage to create the narrowness to the tip. If I’m only using the patient’s own material, it’s just like any other rhinoplasty in terms of cost. So, the general range of that for me is $10,000-16,000, depending upon what I have to do.
I love doing rhinoplasties. I’ve done about 6,000 of them in my life. I’d love to hear from you. I look forward to seeing you in my office.
